Funky Dots

The first nail design I want to share with y’all is one that I did for my mom. I took pictures of her nails along the way to explain how I did them. Scroll down for the finished product!

So here is everything I used (except for the dotting tool). We did a variety of bright-colored polish.

(Left to Right) Mess No More by Mini Mani Moo, OPI Gel Shine “Top Coat,” OPI Gel Shine “Base Coat,” Orly GelFX “White,” Sally Hansen XTreme Wear “Purple Craze,” Sinful Colors “Savage,” Finger Paints “Iconic Orange,” Finger Paints “Silkscreen Green,” and Finger Paints “Pink Perspective.”

This next picture shows her bare white nails I painted with Orly GelFX.

The pink around her finger nails is a new product I got about a week ago. It’s amazing! I highly recommend it. Its called Mess No More by Mini Mani Moo. I got it at Ulta for $13.50. It’s a latex barrier that goes around the nail that peels off for easy clean up.

This is one color combo I used for her nails. It takes a few coats to get the whole nail covered.

Here are all of her nails with all of the different color combinations. For the most part, the each nail have 2-3 colors. There are two nails that have all 5 colors.

After that, I peeled off the latex barrier and cleaned up the edges. I forgot to take a picture of the next step so I will describe it as best as possible. I used the OPI Gel Shine Top Coat and a dotting tool to make small dots on her nails. After she set the polish, I used non-acetone nail polish remover to take off the rest of the polish, leaving only gel dots. I then put a top coat over the nails. This is the finish product below.

Thank you for reading and I hope you like the nails!
